COREY TAYLOR Talks Upcoming Book, Touring With SLIPKNOT And Latest STONE SOUR Album
March 25, 2011Artisan News Service has uploaded its entire December 2010 interview with SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor in which he talked about the inspiration behind his Christmas single, "XM@$"; what Christmas was like as a kid; what Christmas is like now; his lyrics of drinking knowing he's had alcohol abuse issues; bonding with AVENGED SEVENFOLD for the Nightmare After Christmas tour; his book "Seven Deadly Sins"; how STONE SOUR's latest album, "Audio Secrecy", is different from what they've done in the past; their hit rock song "Say You'll Haunt Me"; what inspired "Hesitate"; giving the fan clubs the kind of access that scares other bands; his ambivalence about touring with SLIPKNOT this summer; having someone play bass for the late Paul Gray; former PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul Abott's advice to him; making another album with SLIPKNOT; miscommunication with the other members of the band; and the anniversary of "Iowa".
Taylor's new book, titled "Seven Deadly Sins - Settling The Argument Between Born Bad And Damaged Good", will be published in July. The 256-page hardcover sees Taylor speaking directly to his fans and sharing his worldview about life as a sinner.
Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio, "It's about the seven deadly sins, and my take on them basically, that they're not sins at all, that they're things that in the long run kind of help us to be better people. They're not sins, they're mistakes. But also, you know, kind of balancing it with stories from, you know, growing up, from being on the road, and how I handled these quote-unquote deadly sins and hopefully came out on the other side as a better person."
STONE SOUR's third album, "Audio Secrecy", has sold 157,000 copies in the United States since its September 2010 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
